and after....
The jury is still out, the bill - both moral and sartorial - still unpaid.

 |
1975 - a view from the stalls during their appearance at the CBS convention in Kensington, London. Oxendale's leg takes the honours., as usual. |
 |
1975 - a closer view for those with nerves of steel, bowels of magnesium and sinews of concrete. Drummer Jim Toomey (r) replaces Chris Townson's (broken) leg for the Hunter-Ronson tour of the UK. |
 |
And live again, this time at their final gig - the London Marquee, August 1976. Martin Gordon, Andy Ellison, Chris Townson (obscured) Ian Macleod (just returned, hence the music stand) and the Oxendale piano. |

1974 - and even earlier than Jet was Sparks. It developed into a Mole-based life form but at least it was cheap. Unfortunately cardigans were involved.
L-R Reg Mole, Dinky Diamond (RIP), Rog Mole, Adrian Fisher (RIP), Martin Gordon's cardy.
Turned out nice again, innit. Pic taken in Barry Lategan's studio off Sloane Square, SW1. Dead cosmic, doncha think? I wish I had wallpaper like that, and a blank expression to go.

White Sparks. Right, white. Not as in Tee, but as in John's Children. Promo pic taken around the time of The Age of Uncertainty (1874 -1902) just as steam power was taking over from wind. In this case, wind power was provided by the flapping of bogus agreements, behind the camera but within eyeshot. |
